Reviewer 4: Yes, Foxit Phantom is a fully functional program to create, modify, combine, and annotate PDF files. Foxit Phantom provides users with most of the features that desired in a program that manages reading, creating, editing and manipulating files in the PDF format. In my testing I found Foxit Phantom PDF Suite 10 to be very capable and relatively easy to use after studying the manual for a bit. Promoted as a “Business Ready Toolkit” to create “Standards Compliant PDF files” from hundreds of types of files “up to three times faster” it appears to live up to that claim. At $129 retail price, it’s really more than a casual user would likely ever need.

It is, in fact, not only a good alternative to Adobe Acrobat (which the site refers to as “the #1 competitor”) but a better alternative than Adobe Acrobat if for no other reason than price, ease of use, size of foot print, and lower use of system resources. It password protects documents, adds certificate encryption, enables signature with digital certificates, and converts documents into electronic forms for distribution via email or website. It claims to create standards compliant PDF files from hundreds of file types up to three times faster than with competitive tools. Foxit Phantom is a business-ready PDF toolkit to create professional PDF documents and streamline business processes.
